Non-Stop Flights to Palm Springs and LAX Arriving Soon at Reno-Tahoe International Airport
Alaska Airlines is adding new service between Reno-Tahoe International and Palm Springs and Los Angeles beginning Dec. 17.
Alaska will offer seasonal non-stop service to Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) five times a week through April 12. It’s the first time an airline has offered service between Reno and Palm Springs since Reno Air in 1997. Alaska is also announcing a year-round daily flight between Reno and LAX with connectivity to destinations like Mexico, Hawaii and Florida.
“Airlines are looking to add seats in leisure markets and Reno-Tahoe is the ideal fit for that,” Daren Griffin, president/CEO of the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority, said. “The new Palm Springs flight is perfectly timed for the ski season, while the LAX service offers terrific leisure connections.”
Griffin said strong community support from the Regional Air Service Corporation helped make these flights possible. However, the entire community has a role to play in keeping air service at RNO.
“The best way to show Alaska, and all of our airline partners, how much our region appreciates their support is to fill the seats they are offering,” Griffin said.
“Alaska is excited this winter to directly link our expansive California network to Reno and the world class ski resorts around Lake Tahoe,” Kevin Lemme, manager of market and competitive analysis for Alaska Airlines, said. “For those in the Reno-Tahoe area looking for sun this winter, escape to Palm Springs for a round of golf, or fly to Los Angles and connect onward to 17 destinations in Florida, Mexico, and Hawaii.”
The Palm Springs and LAX service are the second and third new flight announcements by the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority in the last two weeks. JSX will begin non-stop service to Hollywood Burbank Airport beginning Sept. 24.
