YYC and its Fly Healthy YYC Program Receives Global Airport Health Accreditation
Calgary Airport Authority announced YYC Calgary International Airport received the Airport’s Council International (ACI) Airport Health Accreditation in recognition of the high standards of their #FlyHealthyYYC program.
“We are honoured to receive this accreditation as it reinforces our commitment to running a safe, secure and healthy airport above all else,” says Chris Miles, vice president, operations and infrastructure, The Calgary Airport Authority. “The ACI airport health accreditation gives guests and employees increased confidence to feel safe while travelling and moving through YYC.”
Introduced on June 15, #FlyHealthyYYC promotes increased passenger and community protection, and communication leading to enhanced safety measures including rigorous cleaning practices of high-touch areas, mandatory mask wearing, plexiglass barriers, physical distancing reminders, contactless kiosk solutions, temperature screening and hand-sanitizing stations.
With this accreditation, ACI recognizes that YYC is meeting high, international standards around its COVID19 response. When accrediting airports, ACI takes into consideration measures in place such as cleaning and disinfection, physical distancing, staff protection, physical layout, passenger communications and passenger facilities. All passenger areas and processes are reviewed including terminal access, check-in areas, security screening, boarding gates, lounges, retail, food and beverages, gate equipment such as boarding bridges, escalators and elevators, border control areas, baggage claim area and arrivals exit.
