Daytona Beach International Airport Employees Recognized for Excellence In Their Fields
The American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) has recognized nine employees at Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB) for excellence.
AAAE recognized DAB with a Digicast Excellence in Airport Training award for training completed in 2019. Airport training is led by Training Coordinator Dulce Ayala. This award signifies that airport employees and others working at each facility have completed a specified amount of federally mandated airport-specific and continuing education training using Digicast’s web-based training system.
Airport Security Coordinator Ricky Burts completed the Airport Certified Employee security program. This certifies that he has extensive knowledge in airport security and a thorough working knowledge of the fluid airport security environment.
Firefighters with the airport’s Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) team received the Airport Master Firefighter (A.M.F.) designation, which documents that they have the knowledge to manage an airport fire department and a basic understanding of airport administration and management. Earning this prestigious A.M.F. designation is the culmination of a testing process and many years of ARFF experience which allows these firefighters to be part of an elite group of ARFF professionals. Recipients are Battalion Chief Stephen Luciano, Lt. Matt Monk, Lt. Bill Whalen, Lt. James Gray, Jeff Brown, Frank Fusco and Ed Jurgensen.
“Continuous training is a priority at Daytona Beach International Airport,” said Airport Director Karen Feaster. “Passengers can feel confident knowing many of our employees have been recognized for their ability to handle the responsibilities for airport and airfield safety.”
