Airport Authority Approves Contract with New Parking Management Firm
Following a competitive selection process, the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (MNAA) Board of Commissioners approved a contract with LAZ Parking to manage the self-parking facilities at Nashville International Airport. The term is three years, effective July 1, with two separate one-year options to extend the term. The management fee value of the contract, including the optional extensions, is approximately $2.157 million. Reimbursable operating expenses are negotiated annually.
“LAZ Parking was chosen after a thorough evaluation of all four proposals, and its extensive experience and strong record of performance fit perfectly into BNA’s commitment to excellence in operations,” said Doug Kreulen, president and CEO of MNAA. “A focus on customer service is vital as we work to make a bigger, better BNA, and LAZ Parking has demonstrated it successfully embraces that approach. We’re looking forward to a successful partnership that serves our customers and enhances the experience at BNA.”
A new contract for management services of Valet Parking at BNA is currently being procured separately through a competitive solicitation process.
One of the highlights of the LAZ Parking proposal is its commitment to Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program participation. LAZ has committed to achieve a goal of 13.4 percent for operation of the public parking facilities and is partnering with Hudson and Associates to provide ACDBE support for the contract.
LAZ Parking was selected from four companies that submitted proposals. Grading points were based on experience and qualifications, financial responsibility, management and operations plan, customer service and ACDBE participation. Among other obligations, the contract requires LAZ to staff and operate the Public Parking Facilities 24 hours per day, seven days per week, every day of the year in a first-class manner and with sufficient number of personnel to ensure the effective, efficient, courteous and convenient management and operation of the premises.
“LAZ Parking is honored for the opportunity to manage the parking operations at Nashville International Airport,” said Kendra Petty, executive vice president of LAZ Parking. “We are excited about working closely with the airport to implement new technologies, services and amenities to enhance the parker’s experience. Our mission is to serve the travelers and airport employees, delivering the highest level of service, and we look forward to being a good partner to the airport.”
LAZ has been in the parking industry for over 40 years and is the second largest parking company in the U.S. It operates in 34 states, 423 cities and 19 airports across North America, including Toronto (YYZ), Los Angeles (LAX), Oakland (OAK), Orange County (SNA), Montreal (YUL) and Sacramento (SMF).
