HMSHost International is extensively expanding its operations in Indonesia with the addition of five new stores at one of the country’s busiest airports, I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS). The winning proposal is set for five years, with the first store expected to open as soon as there is a passenger recovery, extending the company’s position as the airport’s major F&B operator since 2013. The winning package includes locally renowned café, Sisterfields, and HMSHost’s own global brands Espresso Bar and FRESH. While the pandemic has affected Bali’s tourism in the recent months, this new contract extension strengthens HMSHost’s position as a global leader and reinforces the company’s commitment to and support of airport authorities Angkasa Pura I.
David Mackay, regional director of HMSHost Asia Pacific said, “HMSHost is excited to continue its Bali journey for another five years. Since our entry in 2013, we have established ourselves as the main F&B operator across the International Terminal and have enjoyed a strong collaboration with AP1 along the way. We look forward to developing these exciting new concepts and beginning a journey with the Sisterfields brand, an iconic ‘must visit’ location in downtown Seminyak. HMSHost is proud to be bringing memorable F&B experiences to the Bali international passengers.”
The five new stores will see HMSHost bringing new and fresh concepts to the airport, incorporating a mix of brands to fulfill passenger’s demographic. Alongside well-known local brands like Sisterfields to showcase the best of Bali’s food and beverage scene, HMSHost created bespoke brands of Espresso Bar and FRESH, tailored to the unique location of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport to bring a sense of place.
“We are very delighted to welcome back HMSHost International as our F&B business partner at Bali I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, and have awarded them the F&B commercial tender for the next five years. We sincerely appreciate HMSHost International’s steps to maintain its interest to operate at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport amid the lagging demand of passenger traffic due to Covid-19 pandemic. Nevertheless, we believe that international passenger traffic will immediately rebound once international border is fully reopened and international flights begin to restart again,” said Faik Fahmi, president director of Angkasa Pura I, Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport operator company.
He also added that Angkasa Pura I is exceptionally pleased to know that HMSHost International will bring one of its renowned café brands, "Sisterfields," into the airport. The presence of Sisterfields will further bring a pleasant culinary experience to international tourists at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport.
