Leading international freight forwarder Stockwell International is now calling Brisbane Airport home, after the grand opening of their new warehouse last month.
Stockwell’s 1,500 squre metre state-of-the-art facility, which includes an office space, warehouse, at-grade car bays, and associated hardstand for storage of sea containers, is located on Litsea Street in Export Park.
Martin Ryan, Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) Executive General Manager Commercial, joined Brian Stockwell, Founder & Executive Chairman of Stockwell International, David Stockwell, CEO of the company, and more than 20 Stockwell delegates on site to mark the inauguration of the building.
David Stockwell said the Stockwell team is thrilled to be calling Brisbane Airport home and were thrilled to have the opportunity to add a geographically strategic location to their property portfolio.
"We celebrated our fiftieth-year anniversary this year, and what better way to celebrate than with a brand-new location here at Brisbane Airport. What a start to our fifty-first year," Stockwell said.
"Our existing warehouse in Northgate started to feel a bit small, so it was time to expand and improve the amenities for the team, and we had been planning a facility like this for over 20 years now.
"Thankfully with the BAC team, we found the perfect spot for us and we’ve even had the surprise of having our own putting green installed onsite, which will brighten up our lunch breaks," Stockwell said.
"Being here at the airport, it’s a great gateway for our clients, being able to pick up the freight and move it quickly. For anyone in logistics, it is the logical place to be," Stockwell concluded.
Martin Ryan, Brisbane Airport Corporation Executive General Manager, said the addition of Stockwell International is a strong indication of the quality of land available at Brisbane Airport and its connectivity to SEQ.
"Stockwell’s arrival is very exciting for all of us at Brisbane Airport, and we cannot wait to see them continue to go from strength to strength in their new home," Ryan said.
"We have a number of exciting projects underway and Stockwell International is a part of BNE’s exciting future, which includes the opening of the BNE Auto Mall, scheduled for completion in 2024.
"We want the world to know that Brisbane Airport is open, ready and willing to work with them to create world-class business opportunities within a thriving airport city precinct."
The project generated more than 60 construction jobs and took only seven months to complete.
