Istanbul Airport Spotter Area Has Been Put Into Service
Istanbul Airport has put Turkey's first official "Spotter Area" into service, for those who are interested in aviation photography. The area that will provide opportunities for aviation enthusiasts to come together and capture the beautiful frames is now ready to be seen.
While "spotting", known as aviation or airplane photography, is performed for hobby purposes all over the world, the number of spotting enthusiasts is increasing day by day. Aviation enthusiasts, who desire to capture the right shot of the landing and taking off moments of the plane show great interest in spotter areas.
Breaking a new ground, Istanbul Airport has opened the spotter area that for aviation enthusiasts to capture the best shots.
İGA, which opened Turkey's first official spotter area at Istanbul Airport, created a special opportunity for aviation enthusiasts who want to see the landing and take-off of airplanes up close.
The Spotter Area at Istanbul Airport is located at a dominant point overlooking the runway 1 and the Air Traffic Control Tower.
Those who want to see airplanes up close and photograph the Air Traffic Control Tower will be able to apply for the spotter area at https://www.istairport.com/en/passenger/airport-guide/spotter. In the system where the applications will be evaluated weekly, entries to the area will be made with a temporary apron card. Individuals who upload the images of the front side of their Turkish ID or Passport and fill in the HES code in the spotter form will be able to submit their applications after uploading their passport photos.
The Spotter Area will initially be accessible only on Saturdays, from 08:00 to 17:30. Transportation will be provided by İGA with vehicles departing from Istanbul Airport P6 Turkuaz car park and will be free of charge.
