Allegiant Air Launches New Service to MSP Airport

June 29, 2021

Allegiant Air will become the 18th airline to serve Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) when it launches new seasonal and year-round service to destinations in Florida and North Carolina this fall.

The new non-stop routes include a new destination for MSP with the start of year-round service between MSP and Asheville, NC (AVL) beginning Oct 7. Allegiant will also start seasonal service to Palm Beach, FL (PBI) that same day. Year-round service to Punta Gorda, FL (PGD) will begin on Oct 8.

“We welcome Allegiant Air and are excited to have MSP join its network of airports and destinations,” said Brian Ryks, CEO of the Metropolitan Airports Commission, which operates MSP. “This new service is another sign of a strong recovery in the aviation industry, particularly in the domestic leisure travel market.”

MSP is seeing a big boost in travel as more people are vaccinated and COVID-19 restrictions unwind. The airport set a single day pandemic-era passenger record of 31,500 passengers through TSA checkpoints on Sunday, June 13. Airlines are operating 404 daily departures to 185 destinations in June. Airlines are scheduled to operate 421 daily departures from MSP in July.
