According to new protective measures implemented by the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic, Prague Airport, the Foreign Police of the Czech Republic and the Customs Administration of the Czech Republic will strengthen the control of the currently valid conditions for entry into the country.
The arrival procedure for all passengers flying to Václav Havel Airport Prague will be adjusted starting Sept. 1. Until further notice, the changes implemented at both Prague Airport terminals will affect tourists as well as citizens of the Czech Republic and the EU+ countries returning to the Czech Republic.
The airport continues to encourage passengers to thoroughly review the implemented rules in advance. Before their departure to Prague, they should have prepared, and ideally printed out, all documents, arrival forms and confirmations of non-infectivity, if required.
"We are coordinating the new model with representatives of the Ministry of Health and other security forces present at the airport. We are also increasing our personnel capacity and reinforcing the technical equipment to speed up the entire check-in process on arrivals. Passengers can help accelerated the Czech arrival checks, too, by having reviewed the current conditions and prepared all documents in advance," said Jiří Kraus, vice chairman of the Prague Airport Board of Directors.
The new protective measure allows more people to visit the Czech Republic for tourism reasons. However, they must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with vaccines approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and travel from countries the certificates of which are recognized. According to forecasts, it is expected that the interest in traveling to Prague will increase, too.
In line with the new procedures, passengers will be jointly inspected upon arrival by employees of Prague Airport, members of the Foreign Police of the Czech Republic and the Customs Administration of the Czech Republic. This procedure, which will take place before passport border control at terminals 1 and 2 alike, will not only focus on meeting all conditions for entry into the country, but also further increase the safety of passengers and airport employees.
According to the valid protective measures in place, upon arrival in the Czech Republic, passengers will be screened to determine whether they have completed a Public Health Passenger Locator Form (http://www.prijezdovyformular.cz), are in the possession of a certificate of completed vaccination or proof of illness recovery in the last 180 days. Passengers can also submit a COVID-19 negative test result according to the rules in effect. However, the assessment of the situation will always depend on the specific case of the respective passenger and the destination from which they are arriving.
Passengers can find an overview of the currently valid conditions for entry into the Czech Republic on the Czech Ministry of Interior’s website. Specific rules are based on the list of countries according to the degree of risk, which is regularly updated on the website of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic.
In line with additional measures in place, authorities strongly appeal to travelers, asking them to:
• Mandatorily wear FFP2 (filtering facepiece) masks or alternative equally efficient protective gear while inside the airport.
• Maintain a safe distance from other travelers.
• Pay increased attention to hand hygiene and use hand sanitizers regularly.
