Naples Airport Authority Launches Live Flight Tracking System for Public Use
The Naples Airport Authority (NAA) added a new flight tracking system to its website. Available for public use, flight tracking allows users to watch time-delayed (approximately 10 minutes) movement of aircraft arriving, departing and overflying the Naples Airport and Southwest Florida.
To access the tool, users can click on the orange box labeled "Flight Tracking" at the top of the NAA’s website home page or directly by going to flynaples.com/flight-tracking. The tracker shows flight paths, aircraft numbers, altitude and aircraft origin and destination airports, which can be fun and informative for the public.
The new system also allows users to submit a written comment regarding aircraft operations on the tracking system website. Noise comment information is documented, time-stamped, and submitted to the NAA to be included as part of the noise comment report, which is reviewed and submitted to the NAA Board of Commissioners and the Noise Compatibility Committee.
“The new flight tracking and aircraft noise comment reporting tool available on our website is another example of our commitment to community outreach and engagement,” said Zachary Burch, communications and community outreach manager for the NAA. “We hope the public will utilize this tool to access flight information and continue to stay informed about aircraft operating at and around the airport.”
