Durango-La Plata County Airport (DRO) announces Frontier Airlines will restore nonstop service between Durango and Las Vegas’ Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) starting June 9, 2022.
Frontier Airlines flights to Las Vegas will operate twice per week, with departures on Thursday and Sunday. Frontier will also continue service from Durango to Denver International Airport (DEN) two days per week, with departures also on Thursday and Sunday. The Frontier service to both destinations will utilize 180-seat Airbus A320 aircraft.
"We are excited that Frontier Airlines will be restoring flights to Las Vegas this summer,” Aviation Director Tony Vicari said. “Our passengers were disappointed when the Las Vegas route was removed in March, so I am confident that restored service to this popular destination will be well received by locals and visitors alike.”
“We are delighted to continue offering our ultra-low fares and friendly service to customers on the Western Slope in our home state of Colorado,” said Jennifer de la Cruz, senior director corporate communications, Frontier Airlines.
Previously announced Frontier Airlines nonstop Saturday service between Durango and Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) will be removed from the airline’s schedule. This service was scheduled to begin May 28, 2022.
“Airlines routinely adjust their network strategy in response to passenger demand, and we will work closely with our partner in Frontier Airlines as they continue to offer low fares and nonstop flights from Durango,” Vicari said. “The restoration of Las Vegas service by Frontier Airlines further enhances the route network available for travelers in Southwest Colorado and the Four Corners region. We’re confident that DRO’s convenient location, comfortable facilities, and strong airline route network will continue to fulfil the air travel needs of our community.”
