Clark County Department of Aviation Appoints Mark Moffitt as Airport Facilities Manager, County of Contra Costa Appoints Greg Baer as Director of Airports
The Clark County Department of Aviation has named Mark Moffitt as Airport Facilities Manager. In this role, Mr. Moffitt will manage the operations and staff of the Facilities division for Harry Reid International Airport (LAS). He will begin his position on May 2, 2022.
Bringing a strong background in maintenance, project management, and team development, Mr. Moffitt most recently worked for Clark County Building & Fire Prevention as Building Plans Exam Specialist. He was responsible for evaluating building plans for life safety and code compliance prior to inspection and permit issuance. Previously, he worked for the Clark County Department of Aviation for 12 years and most recently was the Airport Maintenance Superintendent. In that position, he was responsible for 30 Electrical staff across multiple facility disciplines governing building construction and modification.
“Being selected to join the LAS team, one of the largest international airports in the nation, is exciting and a huge milestone in my career,” said Mr. Moffitt. “My passion for aviation, being an instrument rated pilot and facility experience will be an asset in striving to make LAS the number one airport in the nation. Mr. Moffitt is an instrument rated pilot and earned his license as a Master Electrician.
The County of Contra Costa has named Greg Baer as Director of Airports. In this role, Mr. Baer will manage and operate Buchanan Field (CCR) and Byron Airport (C83). He will also plan for the development of future airport facilities, developing and managing a capital improvement and maintenance program. He will begin his position on May 2, 2022.

Bringing over 20 years of public works experience, including five years in airport management, Mr. Baer most recently was the Airport Manager for Napa County Airport in California. While there, he supervised and directed $18 million in capital improvement projects. He also served as Assistant Airport Manager for the airport. Previously, he worked for the City of American Canyon, Public Works Department and United Airlines.

Mr. Baer earned his bachelor’s degree in Aviation from San José State College of Engineering and went on to receive his master’s degree in Public Administration from Sonoma State University. In 2018, he received the Herman C. Bliss Partnership Award from the FAA Western Pacific Region. He is also a licensed private pilot.
