The Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority Appoints Timothy O’Donnell as Airport Director
The Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority has named Timothy O’Donnell as airport director for Eugene F. Kranz Toledo Express Airport and Toledo Executive Airport. As a member of the Port Authority executive leadership team, Mr. O’Donnell will oversee development of the airports and associated facilities, including capital improvement and maintenance programs. He will also work closely with the airports’ fixed-base operators and the Ohio Air National Guard. He will begin his position on July 11, 2022.
Bringing 28 years of airport experience to his new position, Mr. O’Donnell most recently was deputy director – airfield compliance with Detroit Metropolitan Airport and Willow Run Airport. In that role, he was responsible for regulatory compliance, Safety Management System (SMS) development and implementation, and managing the airports’ guiding documents. Previously he was the vice president of operations for South Bend International Airport for eight years. Mr. O’Donnell has also worked for Fort Wayne International Airport, American Airports Corporation, John Wayne Airport, and Detroit Metropolitan Airport.

Mr. O’Donnell earned his bachelor’s degree in aviation management from the Eastern Michigan University. He is an Accredited Member (A.A.E.) of the American Association of Airport Executives and a past member of the AAAE Board of Directors. He is also past president of the Great Lakes Chapter of AAAE. He is a licensed private pilot and Air Traffic Controller (ATC).
