The City of San José Aviation Department Appoints Rosalyn Bond as Deputy Director of Operations
The City of San José Aviation Department has named Rosalyn Bond as deputy director of operations for the Norman Y. Mineta San José International Airport (SJC). As a member of the airport’s executive management team, she will oversee and manage airside operations, landside operations, terminal operations, security operations, and emergency management. She began her position on July 10, 2022. Ms. Bond has worked for SJC for more than 23 years, serving as the interim deputy director of operations for the past several months. She began her career at SJC as an airport noise intern and most recently was airside operations manager.
Ms. Bond gained a great deal of experience in all areas of operations from her roles as security manager, facilities, airside and terminal management superintendent, airport operations supervisor in landside, and airside position with five years as manager on duty.
“SJC truly is an amazing place to work and such a collaborative environment where we all join together to solve any problem we encounter,” said Bond. “The past few years have been hard on us all, but we've all worked together through so many changes over the years, and I'm happy and excited to move up and play a bigger part in SJC's ongoing success.”
Ms. Bond earned her bachelor’s degree in aviation operations from San Jose State University and went on to receive her master’s degree in business administration. She is an Accredited Member (A.A.E.) of the American Association of Airport Executives and has a private pilot’s certificate.
