The Metropolitan Knoxville Airport Authority Appoints Susan Gennoe, CPA, CMFO, as Vice President of Finance
The Metropolitan Knoxville Airport Authority (MKAA) has named Susan Gennoe, CPA, CMFO, as vice president of finance. MKAA operates McGhee Tyson Airport (TYS) and Downtown Island Airport (DKX). In this position, Ms. Gennoe will be the chief financial officer of the Authority, responsible for managing and directing the financial, accounting, risk management, internal audit, payroll, parking, ground transportation and properties (airline) management functions. She began her position on July 18, 2022.
Gennoe brings a diverse background of expertise in local government, public accounting and private industry. Most recently she was the chief financial officer for the City of Knoxville where she served as a member of the mayor’s cabinet and oversaw the managerial, administrative and financial responsibilities of the city’s finance department. Gennoe has also worked for the City of Alcoa, Blount County Government, and several public accounting firms.
“I have spent two decades serving the Knoxville area through various local government finance functions of increasing responsibility, most recently as the CFO for the City of Knoxville,” said Gennoe. “I look forward to this new chapter of serving our community in a different way through the Metropolitan Knoxville Airport Authority. The vice president of finance position is the culmination and combination of the best of my past roles in Knoxville, Blount County and the City of Alcoa. I'm excited to get started.”
Gennoe earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Tennessee. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and received her Certified Municipal Financial Officer (CMFO) designation.
