BagsID announced October 3 the appointment of Richard Camman as Chief Commercial Officer, where he will oversee the commercial operations for airports, airlines and third parties such as security equipment providers, international governments, and airport regulatory institutions.
Richard Camman is known for his expertise in biometrics and seamless passenger journeys. Prior to BagsID, Camman served as Vice President of Business Innovation at Vision-Box, Managing Director of Border and Identity Management for Accenture, and other notable positions.
“To be part of a state-of-the-art technology provider like BagsID, which promises to improve the way we travel with baggage, is truly inspiring. Having been at the heart of the biometrics and the Seamless Passenger Journey within the aviation industry, I’m honored to join the team,” said Camman of his newly appointed position.
With over four billion bags checked in globally every year, baggage handling plays a critical role in the seamless door-to-door passenger journey and the sustainability drive in aviation. BagsID has developed the first image-based baggage recognition solution for the airline industry, leveraging computer vision technology to provide valuable insights to airports and airlines to help increase their performance and capacity.
"Richard joins us with experience that will be instrumental in aligning our computer-vision for profiling and identifying baggage with passenger biometrics. With the recent baggage congestions, it is clear that traveling with baggage needs a new approach. To make the passenger journey seamless, we need to make the baggage journey seamless,” said Dave Bakker, CEO of BagsID.
