The Tucson Airport Authority Announces Vice President of Planning and Engineering
The Tucson Airport Authority (TAA) has named Ken Nichols, PE, C.M., as Vice President and Engineering. Mr. Nichols will be responsible for the strategic leadership, planning, coordination, and management of airport development projects, programs, and initiatives for the TAA at Tucson International Airport (TUS) and Ryan Airfield (RYN). Mr. Nicholas began his new position on October 31, 2022.
Prior to joining the TAA, Mr. Nichols served as a Senior Project Manager at DOWL, LLC, a professional services firm skilled in planning, surveying, engineering, environmental, and other support services. During his career, Mr. Nichols has worked on staff for Boise Airport, Juneau International Airport and Snohomish County Airport -Paine Field as well as more than 50 airports through consulting assignments.
“I’m excited to join the visionary executive team at Tucson Airport Authority as a series of legacy projects are implemented at both airports over the next several years,” said Mr. Nichols. “I was attracted by the organization’s clear mission, vision, strategic plan and governance structure.”
Mr. Nichols earned his bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the University of Idaho. He is also a Certified Member (C.M.) of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) and is a Professional Engineer (PE) in seven states.
