Webber Expands Into South Carolina With Awarded Airport Construction Contract
Webber’s presence on the East Coast is steadily growing with the recent awards of a $16.5 million contract by the South Carolina Greenville Spartanburg Airport District and a $14.8 million contract by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT).
Construction for the Greenville-Spartanburg International Airports project is expected to begin in March and finish in late 2023. The purpose of this project is to provide an airfield apron pavement extension and a roadway extension. Included in the scope of work is excavation, crushed aggregate base (CTB), concrete paving, asphalt roadway pavement, stormwater system improvement and extension of the existing utilities as main activities.

Thanks to this project, the Greenville-Spartanburg Airport will gain a cargo area to increase the capacity for companies that operate regularly at the airport.
Webber has also been awarded GDOT’s I-75 Peach County project, that will consist of the concrete rehabilitation of 10.5 miles of the section of Interstate 75 beginning north of SR 96 and extending south of Sardis Church Road.
The scope of work for f this $14.8 million project includes removing and replacing almost 25,000 square yards of concrete pavement to subsequence grind the whole 10.5 miles of the job and perform stripping again. Other works will involve 8,275 cubic yards of full depth slab replacement and 453,500 square yards of concrete grinding.
