Matthew Heffernan, Chair of the Board of The Calgary Airport Authority (“the Authority”), is pleased to announce the election of Andrea Robertson as the incoming Chair of the Authority’s Board of Directors. Ms. Robertson will assume this role on August 8, 2023, succeeding Heffernan.
“It is a true privilege to assume the role of Chair of the Board of Directors at The Calgary Airport Authority. I look forward to maintaining strong governance for this amazing organization while continuing to foster collaboration with our partners at YYC,” said Robertson. “On behalf of the Board and YYC Crew, I would also like to thank Matthew Heffernan for his dedication, and I look forward to building on the strong foundation that he has created.”
Mr. Heffernan’s term concludes after first being appointed as a Director in 2015 and serving as Chair since 2021.

Originally appointed to the Board of Directors in 2017 by the Calgary Chamber, Ms. Robertson is currently the President and CEO of STARS, a not-for-profit helicopter air ambulance service that provides critical emergency care in Western Canada. Prior to STARS, she spent nearly 30 years in a variety of health care leadership roles at Alberta Health Services, the Foothills Medical Centre, and the Alberta Children’s Hospital. Ms. Robertson has been widely recognized for her generous contributions to business and community life and continues to offer her support and expertise as a member of the Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) Board.
Appointers to the Authority’s Board of Directors include the Calgary Chamber Long Range Planning Committee, the City of Calgary, Rocky View County and the Government of Canada.
In coming weeks, the Authority will also welcome its incoming President and CEO, Chris Dinsdale.
