The Boca Raton Airport Authority (BRAA) hosted its Student Aviation Day on September 21, further solidifying its commitment to nurturing the next generation of aviation professionals. In collaboration with the Academy of Aviation and Technology at West Boca Raton Community High School (WBRCHS), the event offered 23 participating students and faculty a tour of the multifaceted world of aviation.

The day's agenda included visits to key airport facilities such as Atlantic Aviation, Privaira Private Air Charter, Reliable Jet Maintenance, and Lynn University Flight School. Here, students gained an understanding of the broad range of roles that operate in support of the growing industry. They also had the opportunity to question the experts working within each facility, a step towards making informed decisions about their career paths.

“We look forward to this kind of engagement with the students every year,” said Boca Raton Airport Executive Director, Clara Bennett. “Investing in local education is a priority for us, and it's rewarding to see such potential in this next wave of aviation professionals."

In its second year, the Academy of Aviation and Technology at WBRCHS offers an immersive aviation and airport management program, with a curriculum designed to prepare students for a career in the aviation industry. The event on Airport grounds enriches that educational experience by offering firsthand insights into the aviation sector's varied aspects.

The initiative highlights the BRAA's commitment to nurturing educational aspirations within the local community, an aim that serves dual benefits. It opens unique access to programs such as the WBRCHS Aviation and Technology Academy, while also contributing to the future vitality of an aviation industry critical to both regional and national development.
