SJC Airport Wins Marketing & Communications Award
San José Mineta International Airport (SJC) recently earned top billing at the 2023 Airports Council International–North America (ACI-NA) Marketing & Communications Conference. SJC is the 2023 winner for Video and Film Production. The award represents best overall production of an airport video, film, web commercial or television commercial. The ads, centered around the message of ‘Fly Simple,’ represent one element developed for the Airport’s new brand identity which launched earlier this year. The brand campaign also featured a new logo, updated name, revised signage, radio and digital ads. "We are proud to be recognized by the industry for our marketing and communications efforts, especially following the launch of SJC’s new brand identity," said SJC Director of Aviation John Aitken. "The award is the result of a strong brand message combined with our team’s creativity and collaborative spirit, allowing us to produce the videos right here at SJC.” "This award is the outcome of an excellent partnership between our marketing team and creative agency, GALE Partners," said Jill Stone, SJC’s Marketing Manager. “The ‘Fly Simple’ video series captures perfectly what makes SJC standout most – that we’re the Bay Area’s most smooth and dependable Airport. And it didn’t hurt that it had the judges laughing out loud.” In addition to the top honors, SJC was also named a finalist for its Brand Identity and Special Events efforts. The Excellence in Airport Marketing, Communications and Customer Experience Awards recognize the work, talent and creativity in marketing, communications and customer experience for the airport industry. The winners were announced on Tuesday, Nov. 14, at a luncheon held during the 2023 ACI-NA Marketing & Communications Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. The same day, SJC was recognized by the Wall Street Journal as the Best Midsize Airport in the United States.
