Harry Reid International Airport Introduces Remote Bag Drop
Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) has launched a remote bag drop service to enhance the customer experience and maximize operational efficiencies. With this option, LAS also seeks to lessen checkin area volumes, departure curb traffic and the overall amount of luggage on airport shuttles and inside the terminals.
Travelers will be able to check their bags and print their boarding pass as part of this amenity. Customers will benefit by avoiding potential lines at their airline’s ticket counter. This service will also make it more convenient for locals to use the Remote Lot, located at 7140 Gilespie Street, across from the Airport Rent-A-Car Center as a parking option.
“As passenger volumes continue to grow, we are constantly seeking new ways to make the travel experience less stressful for customers while also reducing congestion at key points of the airport’s operations,” said Ralph LePore, senior director for the Clark County Department of Aviation. “This remote bag drop service will provide increased flexibility for our passengers, and we are thrilled to have it in time to welcome fans arriving for Super Bowl LVIII.”
Two permanent locations will operate Thursdays-Mondays, and have the following hours:
Airport Rent-A-Car Center: 4 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Terminal 3 Departures: 4 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Remote bag drop will be available for only the following domestic airlines; and must be dropped off at least 90 minutes before the flights departure time:
• American Airlines
• Delta Airlines
• Frontier Airlines
• JetBlue
• Southwest Airlines
• United Airlines
Use of this service is currently complimentary. Any cost associated with checked bags, as applied by the
airlines, are still applicable.
The Clark County Board of Commissioners approved the multi-year contract with BAGS Inc., which operates similar programs in Denver, Tampa, New Orleans, Orlando and Boston, in December 2023. The contract also allows LAS the option to operate additional pop-up locations during high-volume weekends.
