The New Orleans Aviation Board Names Norman White as Deputy Director of Aviation for Finance and Administration
The New Orleans Aviation Board, which operates the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY), has named Norman White as Deputy Director of Aviation for Finance and Administration. In this position, Mr. White will direct the Aviation Board’s financial and business management activities including budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, payroll, asset control, debt issuance, debt management, and airline rate analysis and calculation. Additionally, this position directs purchasing, accounting, IT, concessions and human resources staff. He will begin his new role on April 15, 2024.
Mr. White has more than 25 years of accounting, finance, and senior-level management experience. Most recently, he worked for the City of New Orleans as Chief Financial Officer. In that role, he was responsible for the development and monitoring of the city’s $1.5 billion budget which includes 50 city departments and agencies. Mr. White also served as the Chief Financial Officer for the City of Detroit where he was responsible for a $3.7 billion budget that included 43 city departments and agencies. He has also led the Department of Transportation in Michigan as the Executive Director and then returned to spearhead a $600 million light rail project as General Manager of the Department’s Woodward Light Rail System.

Mr. White received a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Georgia College and State University. He also served in the United States Air Force.
