– Paul Pittari, PE, has joined HNTB as a project director. Based in the firm’s Parsippany, New Jersey office, he will be responsible for supporting the growth of HNTB’s growing construction services practice and supporting clients in New Jersey and across the tri-state region.
Pittari is a former engineer and construction manager for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. He brings more than 33 years of public- and private-sector experience in construction management, project management, engineering design, contracting, facility management and operations.
“Paul is an expert in multiple facets of infrastructure project delivery,” said Stephen Dilts, HNTB New Jersey office leader. “His career successfully managing the Port Authority’s diverse assets allows him to lend his expertise to projects across various transportation sectors. We are delighted to offer his depth and breadth of experience to clients across the Northeast.”
Before joining HNTB, Pittari provided program and construction management for some of New York and New Jersey’s most ambitious, complex and high-profile projects, including the New Jersey Turnpike Widening Program, multiple air and landside additions at Newark International Airport and Newark’s Terminal C expansion.
Pittari also managed the construction, capital programs, overall operation, maintenance, environmental compliance programs and security for the Holland Tunnel, Goethals Bridge, Outerbridge Crossing and Bayonne Bridges, the Staten Island Bridges and the New Jersey Marine Terminals.
He earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering from Manhattan College in Bronx, New York. He is a registered Professional Engineer in New Jersey, New York, North Carolina and Pennsylvania and a graduate of the International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association’s Leadership Academy.
