HNTB, a leading aviation, sports and transportation design firm, announces growth milestones for its national architecture practice. The firm continues to celebrate project wins and completions across transit, aviation, developments and sports and entertainment venues.
Established 49 years ago, HNTB’s national architecture practice now extends across seven studios, with notable growth in Los Angeles and new establishments in Austin, Texas, and Tampa, Florida. To meet growing client needs, the number of employees within the practice group has more than doubled since 2022 and includes professionals across various specialties, such as conceptual design and technology. Recent key hires include Keith Collins, Western Region business development leader for sports architecture; Brett Hartle, aviation architecture practice leader and vice president; Simmie Clincy, senior project manager for HNTB’s architecture practice; José Luis Fernández-Morais Petersen, design principal for HNTB’s aviation practice; and Chase Pitner, design principal for HNTB’s sports practice.

HNTB’s architectural expertise is exemplified across diverse projects, including some of the nation’s busiest airports. Notable work includes HNTB’s work as the lead design firm for the Airside D international terminal at Tampa International Airport. HNTB was also the lead designer, architect and engineer for the A-West expansion at Denver International Airport.
Another key area of growth is the architectural design of sports venues. For instance, the firm served as the designer for Clemson University’s performance center and competitive field complex that will become the home to women’s lacrosse, gymnastics and rowing programs. HNTB also was the stadium design architect for Lower.com Field, home of the MLS champion Columbus Crew, and played a crucial role as the architect of record for the NFL’s Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, which hosted the 2024 Super Bowl. Most recently, HNTB secured a significant win as a key player in the design and construction of the A’s new Major League Baseball ballpark in Las Vegas.
