The City of Fayetteville Names Andrew LaGala, A.A.E., as Airport Director

The City of Fayetteville has named Andrew LaGala, A.A.E., as Airport Director for the Fayetteville Regional Airport (FAY). In this role, he will develop and manage aircraft operations, building and airfield maintenance, construction, safety and regulatory compliance, and enact programs to promote airport usage. He will begin his new role on October 2, 2024.

Mr. LaGala’s career in aviation spans over 30 years. Most recently, he served as Airport Director for Lynchburg Regional Airport (LYH), where he was responsible for managing all functions of the airport, with direct oversight of airport planning and construction, operations and maintenance, finance and administration, marketing, air service development, and public relations.

Mr. LaGala also served as Deputy Airport Director and Chief Operating Officer for LYH and previously worked as Manager of Commercial Real Estate and Airline Affairs and Assistant Director of Operations for Tampa International Airport. He has also worked for Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport and Fort-Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport.

Mr. LaGala received a bachelor’s degree in Aviation Business Administration from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He is an Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.) of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE). He has also served on the Board of Directors for the Virginia Airport Operator Council since 2019 and is a private pilot.
