Christopher Coulter Returns to HNTB as Group Director of Aviation and Rail/Transit
Christopher Coulter, PE, has rejoined HNTB Corporation, a leading infrastructure solutions firm, as group director of aviation and rail/transit. Coulter brings more than two and a half decades of transportation engineering, planning, design, construction and capital program management experience to his new role.

As group director, Coulter will be responsible for leading multiple teams in the design and delivery of large infrastructure projects. He will manage HNTB’s rail and transit practice in the Puget Sound region.
Coulter’s expertise spans the full project life cycle, with a proven track record in program management and executing projects from planning and design through construction. Most recently, he served as the senior manager of capital programs for Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. In this role, he led a team that was responsible for the development of a three-billion-dollar portfolio, which included airfield, passenger terminal, cargo, security, landside roadway, transit and pedestrian infrastructure improvements. Coulter has also overseen aviation projects at Salt Lake City International Airport, San Francisco International Airport, Portland International Airport, Los Angeles International Airport and more.
Coulter earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park and is a registered professional engineer in Washington.
