Lion dancers, ribbon cuttings, and Jett the SEA Otter ushered in the final group of tenants who call N Concourse their home at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA). Eight recent dining and retail openings filled the last gaps in a dramatic transformation of a 1970’s facility into a modern-day customer service juggernaut that is a model of future SEA investment.
“It’s almost like the end of a really good book, but really it’s just the end of a chapter in our case … and we are all looking forward to SEA’s next chapter,” said Port of Seattle Commissioner Sam Cho. “We’re seeing major progress throughout the terminal on projects that will benefit travelers for years to come, and much of that progress started right here with the N Concourse Modernization project.”
N Concourse officially opened at the end of 2021 adding 213,000 square feet of space, more than doubling its previous footprint, with 8 new and 12 remodeled gates, an 80-foot-tall Central Marketplace with views of the airfield, eye-catching art, and environmental features.
Due to challenges in the middle of the pandemic, not all tenants were able to complete the build out of their spaces. Since then, the last phase of tenants has filled the original vision of the new facility, nearly tripling the number of dining and retail options for travelers and bringing travelers an exciting mix of dining, shopping, and entertainment. The latest tenants celebrated today include:
- P.F. Chang’s is an internationally-recognized Asian culinary brand at SEA with global favorites and sweeping views of the N Concourse
- Lil Woody’s Burgers & Shakes has never been just another burger joint. Every day, their staff serves up fast and fresh meals and snacks with quality and creativity
- Embarque Whiskey Grill offers a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere for travelers as they begin their journey to their destinations
- CHALO Seattle is a travel gift and lifestyle brand that focuses on expressing the unique experience of a city and its people by weaving together concepts from yesterday, today and tomorrow
- Show Pony is a locally-owned boutique featuring clothing, jewelry, accessories, and gifts from independent small designers, many local to the Pacific Northwest
- Village Pub brings a modern twist to the classic English pub experience
- Tender Loving Empire supports hundreds of artists, makers, musicians, and small businesses every day at their storefront
- Sky Gamerz is a gaming lounge serving up retro video games alongside a full food and drink menu
“Opening a location at any airport is a unique experience. So, when we reach a milestone like today, where all of the tenant spaces are officially filled and open for business, it’s worth celebrating!” said SEA Airport Managing Director Lance Lyttle. “We want to thank our tenants and our Airport Dining and Retail Team for striving each and every day to achieve a high level of customer service, which ultimately moves us closer to our airport goal of becoming a 5-Star Skytrax rated airport.”
“Congratulations to the Port of Seattle on its transformation of N Concourse. We are very proud to be a part of such a significant project that will make the journey through SEA more exciting,” said HMSHost Vice President of Business Development Tosin Kasali. “With the opening of Lil Woody’s, home to the best burger in the state of Washington, travelers will have the opportunity to experience a sense of place through a delicious taste of Seattle’s food scene.”
The N Concourse Modernization project reflects the look and feel of the current Upgrade SEA capital improvements program which is investing nearly $5 billion over five years to the airport. Several key major projects are slated to be complete ahead of the 2026 World Cup to greatly enhance the customer experience for the more than 750,000 visitors expected to visit the region, including the opening of more dining and retail locations throughout the terminal.
