Throughgood Bistro is now open in the William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) Ticketing Lobby. The Houston-grown concept offers a menu that includes paninis, salads and sandwiches. Its full bar showcases selections from local breweries and Texas distilleries. Customers order at the counter and can grab a seat at one of the many tables or the bar.
Pastor Rudy Rasmus of St. John's Church in Downtown Houston, owner of Throughgood Coffee, is collaborating with concessions operator Areas HOU to make a tangible impact on local social issues.
"Throughgood Bistro is a perfect addition to Hobby Airport, not just because of its great menu, but because of its mission," said Libby Hurley, assistant director of concessions for Houston Airports. "Houston Airports is committed to providing a world-class experience, and that means offering dining options that reflect the heart of our city. Throughgood Bistro does just that—it delivers Houston flavors with a purpose."
Proceeds from every purchase will contribute to the Bread of Life Foundation, which works to eradicate homelessness in Houston.
"We are honored to collaborate with Rudy Rasmus in supporting the Bread of Life's incredible mission while working with local small businesses at ThroughGood Bistro," said Sal Mendola, director of brands & concept development at Areas USA. "Partnerships like these embody our spirit of hospitality and commitment to help eradicate homelessness in Houston."

Phase 2 Dining Expansion at Hobby Airport Throughgood Bistro is part of Phase 2 of Hobby Airport’s dining overhaul, which continues to transform the culinary landscape at North America’s only 5-Star Skytrax airport. With Throughgood Bistro and Starbucks now open, Hobby Airport has completed its lineup of pre-security dining options.
The final two concepts of Phase 2—Chick-fil-A and Pei Wei—are set to open near Gate 1 in the West Concourse before Spring Break. These trusted national brands will operate side by side, creating a new food court next to Starbucks, which opened in the West Concourse in 2024 as part of Phase 2.
More on Bread of Life | Founded in 1992 by Pastors Rudy and Juanita Rasmus, the foundation began by serving hot meals to Houston's homeless, quickly expanding to offer a broad range of services and support. In partnership with Beyonce's BeyGOOD and Tina Knowles-Lawson, they've conducted anti-hunger initiatives and disaster relief efforts. Nearly three decades later, Bread of Life continues to aid underserved communities in Houston through programs in homelessness, health and hunger relief. With over three decades of service, the Bread of Life Foundation has been instrumental in providing essential resources and sustainable solutions to combat homelessness throughout the city.
