AVIXA to Explore the Business Benefits of Audiovisual Experiences in Transportation Through Continued Collaboration With American Association of Airport Executives
AVIXA, the Audiovisual and Integrated Experience Association, is continuing its commitment to the transportation channel through fresh collaboration with the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE). AVIXA is hosting a series of panel sessions at the AAAE Annual Conference and the AAAE Airport Innovation Forum to include airport executives, industry architects, and AV technologists exploring the future of the airport terminal experience.
“AV technology is transforming the airport experience for travelers and operators — offering improved passenger outcomes, enhanced terminal operations, and new streams of revenue,” said Brad Grimes, AVIXA Senior Director of Communications. “Through our continued collaboration with AAAE, which began in 2018, we will put a spotlight on those airports and the AV technologists who are pushing the boundaries of airport design and operations through the creative use of cutting-edge audiovisual solutions.”
The 91st AAAE Annual Conference (June 16-19 in Boston) is the United States’ leading airport executive conference, attracting more than 2,000 attendees and over 200 exhibitors. The 5th Annual AAAE Airport Innovation Forum (July 10-12 in Chicago) gathers more than 400 conference attendees for 15 thought leadership sessions that discuss what’s next for the airport industry.
According to AVIXA’s Industry Outlook and Trends Analysis (IOTA), transportation industry spending on pro-AV products and services will grow 8.8 percent annually between now and 2023. That is significantly greater than the robust 5-percent global growth of the overall pro-AV market.
At the AAAE Annual Conference 2019, AVIXA Vice Chairman Jeff Day will moderate two panel discussions, featuring John Goodrich, Director of Global Installed Systems, AtlasIED; Stephanie Jaeger, Principal Architect, San Francisco International Airport; Matthew Needham, Principal for Aviation, HOK; Alexandra Tassiello, Deputy Director of Aviation, New Orleans International Airport; and David Weibel, Senior Account Manager, Ford AV.
At the AAAE Innovation Forum, Grimes will moderate a panel on the future passenger experience by focusing on innovation in emerging, non-airport markets that embrace cutting-edge AV technology. “We’ll be exploring best practices that can be applied to airport environments,” Grimes said. Joining Grimes on stage will be Geoffrey Ax, Principal and Aviation Market Leader, Populous; Katie McCoy, Business Intelligence Manager, Charlotte Douglas International Airport; and Jonathon Oudthone, President, Esports Stadium Arlington.
“Through these AAAE sessions, attendees will gain a powerful understanding of how integrated audiovisual solutions are shaping tomorrow’s airport terminals,” concluded Grimes.
