Ennis-Flint Continues Growth with Construction of Two New Manufacturing Facilities
Ennis-Flint announced construction is underway for two new manufacturing facilities in North Carolina. The first new plant will produce glass beads which are added to pavement marking materials to enhance the night-time visibility of the markings. The second plant will produce hot-applied thermoplastic, a durable pavement marking material. Ennis-Flint currently has three glass bead and three thermoplastic facilities in the United States.
“In 2014, Ennis-Flint purchased 80 acres of land near our corporate headquarters looking ahead to this type of structural expansion. We’re excited to see our vision come to fruition, enabling us to meet and exceed market demand within these two product categories,” said Matt Soule, Ennis-Flint president-Americas.
All of Ennis-Flint’s North American manufacturing facilities are ISO 9001-certified. According to Neil Brittain, vice president of manufacturing and lean operations in North America, “the new facilities will allow us to further enhance our continuous improvement initiatives. We’re very enthusiastic about the new construction and production capabilities expected from these new plants. ”
Both of the new facilities in Thomasville, N.C., which are anticipated to employ 32 full-time and 18 seasonally, are targeted to be open in time to service customers in the Spring of 2017. Including the new facilities, Ennis-Flint will have 22 manufacturing locations on four continents and will collectively supply products to over 90 countries.
