Bronx Man Pulls Gun on Port Authority Cops at JFK Airport: Sources

Nov. 9, 2020

An unhinged Bronx man pulled a gun on two Port Authority cops during a tense clash at John F. Kennedy Airport early Saturday, authorities said.

Port Authority police were dispatched to the Jet Blue terminal around 4 a.m. on a report that an emotionally-disturbed man was wandering around the area.

When they arrived, they found the 22-year-old man and were beginning to question him when he whipped out a pistol and aimed it at the officers.

One of the officers grabbed the gun while the other tackled the man to the ground and subdued him. No injuries were reported.

The suspect’s gun was unloaded, although he had a magazine in his pocket containing eight hollow-point bullets, a source with knowledge of the case said.

The gun, a Taurus pistol, was reported stolen in Georgia, the source said.

The man was alone in the terminal and didn’t have a ticket or any baggage, a Port Authority spokesman said.

Cops charged him with weapons possession. Other charges were pending.
