Bradley International Airport Website Hit by DDoS Cyber Attack; No Data Breach Has Been Reported
An unidentified person or group attempted to crash the Bradley International Airport website on Tuesday, Connecticut Airport Authority officials said.
Bradley International Airport’s website is now up and running. CAA is closely monitoring the situation and said there has been no evidence of a data breach.
The CAA, which manages multiple Connecticut airports including Bradley, said the cyberattack was a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) hack.
Cloudflare, a cyber security company, says a DDoS attack “is a malicious attempt to disrupt the normal traffic of a targeted server, service or network by overwhelming the target or its surrounding infrastructure with a flood of Internet traffic.”
The incident has only affected the Bradley Airport website, officials said there haven’t been any reported issues with all other airport operations.
