Ian Wheeler is joining the board of Infare as non-executive chairman.
Having spent his career at the crossroads of travel and technology in a variety of executive and non-executive roles, Wheeler is well placed to help Infare meet its ambitious growth objectives. He currently serves as president of Travelfusion, non-executive director of Tungsten Corp. and special partner in the travel and technology sector for private equity firm Vitruvian Partners, whose investments in travel have included Skyscanner, JacTravel and OAG.
Previously, Wheeler worked for 13 years at global travel technology provider Amadeus, where he held the positions of vice president of distribution (GDS), vice president of global marketing and managing director of e-travel. His earlier career was spent at Thomas Cook, Hertz and OAG. He has also been involved as a non-executive director at JacTravel, Vayant Travel Technologies, Cabforce, Traveltainment and Vacation.com.
