TSA Holding Hiring Event to Fill Positions at MSP this Saturday
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is holding a fast track hiring event this week to recruit multiple full-time and part-time transportation security officers to work at Minneapolis−Saint Paul International Airport (MSP).
The event will be held Saturday, January 19, at TSA administrative offices, 2001 Killebrew Drive, suite 400, Bloomington, MN, 55425. Applicants may visit any time beginning at 8 a.m. and should bring two valid forms of state or federal identification. Interested applicants must be a U.S. citizen, 18 years of age, and enjoy working with and helping people.
“This is a great opportunity to receive high quality training, work with dedicated public servants who care about what they do, and to join a close-knit team whose mission is to protect the traveling public,” said John Bell, assistant federal security director of screening at the airport. “This event helps to speed up the hiring process for qualified men and women who are interested in joining our team at MSP in advance of the busy spring and summer travel seasons.”
TSA officials will discuss the duties of a transportation security officer and the application process. They also will provide an overview of working for the federal government and discuss benefits which include paid leave, competitive health care plans for full-time and part-time employees, free transit benefits, and matching 401K contributions. Starting pay is $18.38 per hour. Applicants can earn up to $25.55 per hour depending on their shift and ample over time opportunities.
After the information session, interested individuals will be able to participate in a structured interview to assess qualifications, take a computer-based aptitude test, and schedule a drug screening and medical exam. Applicants can apply for the positions on-site, but are encouraged to apply for full time positions early at https://www.usajobs.gov/GetJob/ViewDetails/518131000 or part time positions at https://www.usajobs.gov/GetJob/ViewDetails/518131700.
