ABM Recognized as an Accredited Aviation Security Training Provider by CAA

June 29, 2021

ABM, one of the UK’s leading providers of aviation services, is celebrating after being given approval by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) for its security and cabin cleaning Quality Assurance Training Syllabus.

ABM wanted to bring its existing training in line with the CAA and be recognised as an accredited Aviation Security Quality Assurance training provider. The accreditation means ABM can now offer a more structured approach to its induction and refresher cabin training for team members, while providing customers and clients the reassurance of a professional approach to aircraft security and cabin cleaning training.

The news comes as the UK Government begins to reopen international travel and follows a string of secure cabin cleaning wins for ABM which includes contracts for Virgin, Delta, and American Airlines.

The work has been carried out during one of the toughest years the aviation industry has experienced. Since October 2020, the ABM team has researched, designed, and created the training syllabus following CAA  guidelines, to demonstrate its commitment to quality, safety, and security.

David Wheeler, head of learning, development & talent at ABM, explains, “Six months of hard work, dedication and a commitment to quality has paid off for the team. Securing a passing qualification for our Quality Assurance Training Syllabus from the CAA is a huge achievement.

“Through careful project planning, regular communication and with the support of our operational colleagues we can reassure our clients and passengers that quality, safety and compliance are the corner stones to the travel experience and what we pride ourselves on. This accreditation shows we are one of the best companies operating in this area of work.”

The first set of inductions for team members began earlier this month in preparation of the aviation sector beginning to re-open on Monday 17 May, and ahead of the further relaxation of travel rules expected to be introduced at the end of June.
