Wes Blair Named Chief of Police by The Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority

The Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority (MSCAA) has named Wes Blair as Chief of Police to lead the Memphis International Airport Police Department’s law enforcement and crime prevention activities. In this role, he will collaborate closely with all MSCAA departments to develop and implement strategic plans, policies, and procedures to achieve Authority goals and objectives. He began his new role on August 12, 2024.

Mr. Blair brings more than 28 years of experience in law enforcement, extensive leadership roles, and a proven track record of enhancing safety and security in diverse environments. Most recently, he was Chief of Police for the City of Cape

Girardeau, Missouri, where he supervised a department of 130 employees. In that position, he rolled out new systems for records management, computer-aided dispatch, a 911 call center, and radio interoperability. He also oversaw the construction of a new police facility. Mr. Blair has also held the titles of Assistant Chief of Police and Sergeant/Detective with the City of Lancaster, Texas.

Mr. Blair received a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Mountain State University. He then went on to earn a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Texas and a doctorate degree in Criminal Justice Leadership from Liberty University.
