Garmin Announces 2019 Avionics Training & Seminars at EAA AirVenture

Garmin is pleased to announce it will host numerous avionics training seminars and classes throughout the week at EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin (July 22-July 27, 2019). In addition to training opportunities, Garmin will also have several aircraft on static display, including ‘Draco’ – a highly-modified Wilga aircraft featuring a PT6A turbine engine and G3X Touch. Other Garmin-equipped aircraft on static display at the Garmin exhibit will include two Cessna 182s, an A36 Bonanza and an RV-8.

Garmin GTN 650/750 training classes

The Garmin aviation training team will be hosting five GTN 650/750 pilot training classes July 22-July 26 at the Hilton Garden Inn on the airfield in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. This one-day course will explore navigation and terminal procedure operational considerations within the GTN series. Using real-world scenario-based training, the class will also emphasize flight planning and instrument procedures. Throughout the class, pilots receive hands-on real-world experience by using a desktop training kiosk that is equipped with a GTN 650 and GTN 750. Classes start at 8:30 A.M and conclude by 2:30 P.M. each day. Cost to attend one class is $99, which includes a three-month IFR premium subscription to Garmin Pilot, as well as a $50 credit that can be used toward a future Garmin pilot training event. Aircraft on static display

As part of the Garmin exhibit, ‘Draco’, a highly-modified Wilga bush plane built by Mike Patey will be on display throughout the week. The Wilga airframe is powered by a 680 hp PT6A and can take-off at sea level in 78 feet and land in 97 feet. It is also capable of climbing at 4,000 feet per minute and cruising at 180 mph at 16,000 feet. ‘Draco’ achieves impressive performance and flexibility unheard of from a traditional bush aircraft.

Additional aircraft within the Garmin exhibit will include two Cessna 182s, an A36 Bonanza and an RV-8, which will all feature the latest in Garmin avionics, including the latest flight displays, navigators, autopilots, nav/comm radios, flight instruments and much more.
