Epic Flight Academy, whose headquarters is located in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, announces a new satellite location for its FAA Part 141 flight training program in Ocala, Florida. Epic was founded in 1999 and has operated at the New Smyrna Beach Airport since that time.
Although the flight school offers remote flight training through its “Epic Anywhere” program, the Ocala location is its first satellite site. Chief Flight Instructor Vic Johnson explained Epic’s choice to open a flight training facility in Ocala.
“The Ocala area has a large and established aviation industry,” said Johnson, “and we already have flight students in this area. The central Florida location offers close proximity to major airports, such as Orlando, Tampa, and Jacksonville. This allows students to train in various classes of airspace. When we decided to open this satellite location, all of these factors were a consideration.”
Founder and CEO Danny Perna added, “Epic has always been determined to offer the highest quality of flight training at the most affordable rate. We do this by using new aircraft and flight simulators to get our students into the cockpit as quickly as possible as they attend ground school classes. Offering training close to home is more efficient for them. Rather than driving two hours to New Smyrna Beach, our Ocala students can now attend flight school in their own neighborhood.”
Epic’s new flight school is located at the Ocala International Airport at 1200 SW 60th Ave, Suite A, Ocala, FL 34474.
