Helisim LLC Plans To Expand Flight Simulator Offerings in North America
Helisim LLC, a U.S. subsidiary of Helisim, an Airbus Helicopters and Thales joint venture company, continues to invest in flight simulation offerings for the Airbus Helicopters H145 and H160 fleet in the Americas.
Helisim LLC, co-located and partnered with the Airbus Helicopters North America Training Center in Grand Prairie, Texas, currently operates three full motion simulators including a Thales Reality H Level D H145 Full Flight Simulator (four-bladed variant).
Although training for the newer five-bladed variant of the H145 can be accomplished in its existing H145 simulator, the company is finalizing plans to offer a five-bladed version of the simulator to its customers in the near future.
In addition, Helisim LLC is pleased to confirm the second H160 Level D FFS in the world will be located at its facility in Grand Prairie, Texas. The FFS is expected to support training for approximately 400 pilots a year, with a potential of more than 4,000 training hours annually in line with the growth of the fleet. The ready for training date will be announced shortly.
These expanded flight simulation offerings will serve as a critical support element for the growing number of North and Latin American H145 and H160 customers.
The world’s first H160 FFS was deployed at Helisim in Marignane, France in August 2020 with approximately 1,500 flight hours accrued as of March 2023.
