Aviation School Holding National AMT Day Celebration
IRVING, TX (05/12/15) – Aviation Institute of Maintenance (AIM) – Irving campus will be holding a special celebration on Saturday, May 16th, in honor of National Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) Day. Festivities kick off at 10:00am and run until 2:00pm. This event is free and open to the public.
The AMT celebration will feature a number of aviation themed games and contests, refreshments, as well as speeches from graduates. Guests are invited to take a tour of the campus’s airplane hangar and labs, where AIM students train to become future aviation maintenance technicians.
Aviation Maintenance Technician Day is observed in the United States on May 24th to recognize the achievements of Charles E. Taylor. Taylor was the maintenance technician responsible for building and maintaining the engine used to power the aircraft of the renowned aviation pioneers, the Wright Brothers.
