OmniServ Enhances Staff Training Capabilities with David Wheeler Appointment
OmniServ has appointed David Wheeler as Head of Learning & Development, as part of the company’s continued focus on staff training and learning & development.
With 20 years of extensive experience in the finance, facilities management (FM) and communications industries, Wheeler has worked in a variety of training, learning & development roles. He will be responsible for creating a training strategy across the OmniServ and Blackjack business, bringing consistency to the vast training programs the company provides its team members. He also will establish a set of training standards, develop the skill sets of the training team, develop online course offerings and work with the operational and Health and Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) teams to develop bespoke training as required.
Wheeler says, “At the heart of OmniServ’s growth and success are our team members, who serve our clients and passengers to the best of their ability every single day. As such, they deserve access to ‘best in class’ learning and development opportunities. Working with the current training teams across the business, introducing new development initiatives at all levels and working in collaboration with external training partners, I know we can make this a reality.”
Wheeler joins OmniServ from OCS Group, where he spent the last four years as head of learning and development (UK, Middle East & Ireland). During this time, Wheeler led the development of a training strategy across the whole OCS business operation and was responsible for designing and creating a Learning & Development Academy including topics such as Induction and up-skilling sessions through to succession and talent management. Prior to that, he held similar HR and training roles at Sanctuary Housing Association, Barclaycard, Airwave Solutions and HFC Bank.
“At the heart of our business is our people, so we are continuously looking at how to improve and enhance our staff training programmes,” said Antony Marke, group managing director at OmniServ. “With his impressive background in this area, we are delighted to welcome David to the OmniServ team and look forward to getting his valuable input to ensure that we remain top of our game in terms of learning & development opportunities.”
