Select students from Boca Raton High School visited the Boca Raton Airport. The students were Navy JROTC aviation cadets who have taken an aviation class and have shown an interest in the aviation industry. During the tour, the students learned about the Airport’s history, its role in the community and the various responsibilities of staff members.
Additionally, the students explored the airfield and interacted with Fixed Base Operators (FBOs), mechanics, air traffic controllers, airport administrators and US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) facility staff. This gave them a glimpse of what daily operations are like at a general aviation facility while exposing them to the numerous career options that are available in aviation, other than being a pilot or flight attendant.
