14 AUGUST 2013 - Miramar, FL -- Becker Avionics, manufacturer of technologically advanced audio and intercom control solutions for commercial, special mission, and military aircraft applications, introduces its new fixed wing DVCS Digital Audio system for the Beechcraft King Air series aircraft line. The DVCS product is offered as a retrofit or upgrade by several aircraft completions centers around the country, as a replacement for the standard or legacy analog audio system installed in most King Air's. Becker has long been known as a leader in the avionics/communications market segment for airplanes and helicopters - and this latest product displays their extensive product line, which includes the new fixed wing variant of the popular DVCS6100 digital audio and intercom system.
The DVCS6100 digital audio and intercommunication system (ICS) has been utilized on various King Air aircraft models for the last few years, such as the King Air 350 & 350ER and the King Air B200/B300 series. Becker's new fixed wing oriented DVCS6100 is now more tailored for the fixed wing environment, and offers a great upgrade solution for older analog audio and intercom systems installed most King Air aircraft. The King Air is a versatile, twin-engine, turbo-prop aircraft that is utilized for a wide range of missions from VIP transport, to military and special mission applications.
The normal cockpit configuration includes the two panels in the cockpit for pilot and copilot and an optional panel for the jump seat. In case of a multi-mission aircraft, the system can be easily expanded with additional audio control panels in the passenger cabin, which interface with the DVCS's Remote Electronic Unit (REU).
The DVCS6100 is a multi-user audio management system with a wide range of features designed to achieve the clearest communications in noisy aircraft environments. The system provides crewmembers easy access to radios and intercom voice channels. It is field-proven in hundreds of applications and provides a complete solution for operators demanding high quality, digital voice communication. Its high cross talk isolation, software configurable multiple private intercom talk groups and simulcast functionality provide crewmembers with the best and most flexible solution for the mission.
About the DVCS6100
The DVCS6100 design provides the customer with ability to match a wide range of operational requirements with only one system. The built-in scalability and flexibility reduces not only the cost and time requirements for constant re-engineering and certification for a tailored system solution, but also reduces the learning curve for integration, maintenance and troubleshooting time. Through software programming options, the system is both easily and quickly configurable to individual customer requirements, thus saving time and money.
The DVCS' open system architecture technology provides for operational comfort and superior voice quality, ensuring that almost any customer requirement can be met. When compared to a legacy analog audio system, Digital technology provides simplified installation, improved performance, reduced wiring and weight, along with reduced installation and maintenance costs. Furthermore, the comprehensive built-in-test (BIT) feature enables line maintenance crews to easily diagnose/isolate failures and replace system components quickly.
No matter what the mission; from passenger transport, to airborne law enforcement and EMS, and surveillance or utility operations, the Becker Digital Audio system ensures a more modern and capable aerial platform.
DVCS6100 Digital Audio System Features
The DVCS6100 has been designed with Becker Avionics' proven know-how of more than four decades in audio system development for the aerospace industry. Since the market introduction of the 1st DVCS generation product, over 1100 systems have been delivered, with all achieving outstanding field reliability. Becker's continuous product improvement program has made the DVCS6100 a very mature, technically advanced, and reliable product.
The main system components of the DVCS6100 system are the Remote Electronic Unit (REU) 6100, the Audio Control Unit (ACU) 6100, and the optional Intercom Amplifier IC3100.
The product offers up to 8 communication transmit (TX) and up to 8 receiver (RX) channels, an integrated warning tone generator for up to 8 different signals, an amplifier for 2 cockpit speakers, as well as interfaces for 2 Cockpit Voice Recorders (CVR), and a Public Address Amplifier (PA).
Up to 6 ACU panels can be operated together with one REU. Each unit can be configured with the included software to give complete adjustments across different on-board radio systems. If needed, the system also meets the highest standards for night operation under NVG and military conditions. The ACU6100 is available with NVIS green (MIL-STD 3009 Green B) and white Backlight, and offers emergency and slaved mode operation.
