SATAIR Group Inks Five-Year Exclusive Deal With Honeywell to Offer Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) Upgrades for Business Aviation

Nov. 2, 2016
The agreement covers inventory management and distribution for Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) implementation on Primus II equipped business aviation aircraft.

Satair Group, a world leading provider of aftermarket spares support, services and solutions, have entered into a five year exclusive agreement with Honeywell Aerospace, expanding an already long lasting partnership which dates back from 1989. The agreement covers inventory management and distribution for Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) implementation on Primus II equipped business aviation aircraft.

With many Primus II equipped aircraft flying today, the agreement greatly increases the availability and reduces lead times of the equipment and upgrades required to meet the mandate.

Under the terms of the agreement Satair Group will invest heavily in both new and serviceable equipment for replacement, rental exchanges and loan equipment. This is required to bring Primus II equipped business aviation aircraft in compliance with the mandate from 2010, which requires a global 100% upgrade completed by July 2020.

Steen Karsbo, Vice President of Business Development at Satair Group said: “We have enjoyed a strong partnership with other Honeywell divisions for many years. Now, working on the ADS-B program allows for us to really demonstrate the value we can bring in terms of supporting both the commercial aerospace aftermarket and in particular the business jet aviation aftermarket. Our strong capabilities in helping on the logistical and forecasting challenges of this mandate will be of utmost value to our common customers.”

Depending on the configuration of the aircraft, a variety of components including Radio Management, Communications, and GPS LRU’s could require either replacement or upgrade to meet the mandate.

“We see this as our first major step into the business jet market segment. Standing on the shoulders of a strong foundation and our 60 years of experience servicing the commercial aerospace aftermarket, we are looking forward to servicing initially Honeywell, but surely also our other business partners who have a presence in this market,” Karsbo ended.
