EnerSys® Marks 125 Years in the North American Industrial Battery Business
READING, Pa., Aug. 7, 2013 – EnerSys® (NYSE:ENS), the global leader in stored energy solutions for industrial applications, celebrates their 125-year anniversary in the industrial battery business in North America.
From their beginning in 1888, EnerSys® has evolved to become the largest industrial battery manufacturer in the world, operating manufacturing, assembly, and distribution facilities worldwide for customers in more than 100 countries while exceeding $2.3 billion in sales in 2012. The extensive line of motive power, reserve power, aerospace and defense and specialty batteries are complemented with a full range of integrated services and systems.

The ABSL high energy density Lithium-Ion (Li-Ion) long life battery assemblies are used in the International Space Station for spacewalks.
