Saft, the French industrial battery manufacturer, joins this year an exclusive list of technology companies that have existed for a century or more. The company will host an anniversary reception this week at the National Business Aviation Administration convention in Orlando, Florida.
Founded in 1918, Saft made its name providing highly specialized batteries for uses from transportation to energy storage and from space exploration to the Internet of Things. More than 3,000 customers worldwide rely on Saft batteries for their long life and ability to function in the most extreme conditions.

Today, Saft employs 4,300 people in 18 countries. The company has research centers in France and the US, where it has a particularly strong footprint, and 14 manufacturing sites and 30 sales subsidiaries across the world.
Saft has been operating in America for half of its 100-year history. In that time, it has gone from one site to five key locations across the US and now produces a range of battery chemistries for a variety of customers, including the military and energy companies. Saft serves a wide range of market sectors, including aerospace and defense, building and industry, medical, telecom, oil and gas, transportation and utilities.
Saft America has locations in Jacksonville, Florida; Valdosta, Georgia; Valdese, North Carolina; Cockeysville, Maryland; and North Haven, Connecticut, as well as salespeople located across the country.
