Kennon Aircraft Covers was an idea born by Ron Kensey and Paul Kennon Chaney at a Los Angeles garage sale in 1984. At the time, Kensey was working for the American Heart Association and Kennon owned a construction business and was a pilot with a mission to keep his aircraft interior protected from the hot California sun. With a $500 investment and a 5-inch advertisement, Kensey and Kennon started producing hand-cut sunshields from Kensey's garage in Temple City.
