IBAC Representing the SAF Coalition at the Virtual ICAO Aviation CO2 Reductions Stocktaking Seminar
Montreal – 4 September 2020 – The International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) will represent the Business Aviation Coalition for Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF Coalition) at the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Aviation CO2 Reductions Stocktaking Seminar on Sept. 8-11. The SAF Coalition is also a Silver sponsor of the four-day virtual event.
The 2020 Virtual ICAO Stocktaking Seminar will consider innovative solutions to unlock current and future CO2 aviation emissions reduction potentials. It will cover three areas for in-sector reductions: Technology, Operations, and Sustainable Aviation Fuels.
Kurt Edwards, Director General, IBAC, will participate in an innovation and implementation discussion during the seminar on 11 September. This panel will focus on next steps and efforts to boost innovation and shorten the path from knowledge to implementation of solutions. “Sustainable aviation fuel is a reality today, and we are focused on innovative methods to accelerate its availability so that more and more business aircraft operators may use it. Widespread implementation of SAF will allow for growth while reducing carbon emissions.”
The SAF Coalition – which includes the Commercial Aviation Alternative Fuels Initiative (CAAFI), the European Business Aviation Association (EBAA), the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA), the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC), the National Air Transportation Association (NATA) and the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) recently released an SAF Guide titled, Fueling the Future. This guide serves as an educational and informational resource about the practicalities of SAF development, industry adoption, and pending expansion of supply and use, primarily from the perspectives of the business aviation community.
Registration for the online seminar is free.
