Recaro Aircraft Seating Celebrates Streamlined Design for Final Assembly Line With Inauguration Event
Recaro Aircraft Seating (Recaro) unveiled a new streamlined design for its Final Assembly Line (FAL). An inauguration event was held on March 2 and was attended by nearly 100 suppliers, VIPs and RECARO colleagues.
Nearly 11k square meters of the space was renovated, it features >350m conveyor technology for the seats, 60% power savings through LED lighting, and an expanded canteen and coffee lounge. More than 4 million € were invested in the project.
A part of the company’s global space2grow expansion strategy, planning for the new FAL design first kicked off in 2017. The implementation took 15 months of construction time and was completed in January 2023.
“Today was a celebration of many months of hard work and dedication from my colleagues who believe in the importance of customer-centric manufacturing,” said Dr. Mark Hiller, CEO and Shareholder. “Technology is a driving force in our industry and it’s important for Recaro to be a pioneer in lean production, so we can better serve our customers.”
